Planned

Multi-Network Roaming
One membership. Every venue.

A member authenticates once and gets seamless WiFi access at every Weird Network venue — no re-entering credentials, no new portals. The full network-effect realized.

In development. The membership infrastructure exists today. Full seamless roaming — where a member's token is automatically recognized at any venue without re-authentication — is the planned evolution. No launch date.

What seamless roaming means

Today, a Weird Network member can use their membership at any participating venue — but they still need to go through the portal and authenticate each time they arrive at a new location. That's functional, but it creates friction.

The roaming feature eliminates that friction. A member's device is recognized automatically at any Weird Network venue. They connect to the WiFi, and the internet opens. No portal. No credentials. Just connection.

The network-effect value proposition

Why the network grows faster than any single venue

Every new venue joining the network increases the value of every existing membership. A member who pays $19/month gets access to 10 venues today — and 50 venues next year, with no price change. That's a compounding value increase that no single-venue WiFi product can offer.

What it enables

✈️

Travel use case

Remote workers and frequent travelers get reliable WiFi at every participating venue in every city they visit. One subscription, everywhere.

🏘️

Local roaming

For members who rotate between a few favorite spots — the coffee shop, the library, the coworking space — no more daily re-authentication at each location.

💼

Business teams

A team membership covers every employee at any network venue. Expense reporting for WiFi goes from "per-location voucher" to "monthly flat fee."

📈

Venue revenue

As roaming members use multiple venues, the revenue attribution model distributes membership fees based on actual session time at each location. More usage = more revenue.

Why this is the long game

Multi-network roaming is what transforms Weird Network from a "captive portal SaaS" into a network with genuine lock-in value. The more venues that join, the more valuable memberships become — which attracts more members — which makes venues more willing to join.

This is the same dynamic that made Eduroam valuable for universities and hotel WiFi loyalty programs valuable for business travelers. The difference: Weird Network is building it for independent small businesses, not institutions.
